The State of Hawaii

In order to export pets to the State of Hawaii, the following lists are required:

1. Passport of the exporter, both original and copy.
2. The microchip certificate, hardcopy.

• Your pets must have an electronic microchip implanted before the serology test for rabies is performed.

3. Your pets have to be over 16 weeks old 
4. Vaccination record/booklet with details of pets, hardcopy.

• Each vaccination must include all of the following information: (1) date of vaccination, (2) vaccine product information, and (3). veterinarians’ detail: full name, license number, and signature of a veterinarian who administered the vaccination.
• The pets must have been vaccinated at least twice for rabies in its lifetime.
• The rabies vaccines must have been administered more than 30 days apart.
• The current (most recent) rabies vaccine must have been administered more than 30 days before the pet’s date of arrival in Hawaii and not more than the vaccine’s licensed booster interval listed on the manufacturer’s label.

5. The report of the serology test for rabies, hardcopy.

• The test must be performed in the following approved laboratories: 
  • Auburn University (AU), Kansas State University (KSU) or the DOD Food Analysis and Diagnostic Laboratory in Texas (DOD).
• The result of the blood test must be greater than or equal to 0.5 IU/ml.

6. Tick protection treatments (If required)

• Must be treated within 14 days before a date of entry.
• The pets must be treated by a veterinarian, the certification of the veterinarian is necessary as the vaccination record details above.

8. Import permit (If required)

Please, bring all the required documents in hardcopy with your pets to the Animal Quarantine Station for physical examination within 1-5 business days prior to the departure date without any reservation needed. We are open Monday-Friday (except Thai public holidays) 08:30 am – 12:00 pm and 01:00 pm – 03:30 pm.

All the processes here will take about 2-3 hours; we will provide you the official health certificate and export permit. Please prepare 250 THB/pet and 10 THB/Shipment for a fee (Cash only).
